The Bossa Studios meetup has been a popular event in London, held on a fairly regular basis by the Surgeon Simulator developer. The studio has now announced its next meetup will be taking place this month, with several demos and speakers confirmed for the line-up.

Talking at the event will be Ustwo Games’ Peter Pashley, who is Head of Development and co-designer of Land’s End. Pashley will be discussing: “The User Experience of Land’s End”, and remarks on Bossa’s meetup page: “Our primary goal when making Land’s End was to provide a great VR user experience for a wide range of players, from VR enthusiasts to novices. I’ll talk about the successes and failures along the way and go into depth on some of our final design solutions.” He’ll also be bringing several Gear VR’s with copies of Land’s End for attendees to play.

The second speaker will be Bossa Studios own CTO, Sylvain Cornillon. The theme for Cornillon’s talk will be: “Search for the ultimate escapism – Developing VR at Bossa Studios”. The official description for the talk reads: “Sylvain will talk you all through a short history of VR development at Bossa Studios. He’ll talk about the changes that Bossa has made to the cult Surgeon Simulator game to make it a true VR experience and speak about the company’s latest experiments in the development new virtual reality content.”

Bossa Studios will be demoing its virtual reality (VR) title Surgeon Simulator: Experience Reality, which was revealed back in October 2015, on the HTC Vive. It will also support the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). James Edward Marks will also be showing #HackthePlanet on Google Cardboard.

The meetup will be held at Bossa Studios Zetland House, 5-25 Scrutton Street, London, UK on Tuesday, 23rd, February 2016 at 6:45pm GMT. To join the group and RSVP head to the events meetup page.

VRFocus will continue to bring you the latest news from Bossa Studios as new events and VR project details are announced.
