It’s been an unfortunate few weeks for Oculus VR and its customers. The launch of the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) has not gone as planned, with a component shortage greatly restricting the number of units that can be sent out to those that have pre-ordered the device. Fans have seen up to two month delays on their orders in some cases. The situation is far from ideal, but Oculus VR is now saying that it has fixed the issue and is trying to redouble its efforts to meet demand.

Oculus VR founder and Oculus Rift creator Palmer Luckey recently confirmed as much. Replying to one fan on Twitter, Luckey stated: “The problem was fixed last week, but no, can’t share further details. Ramping up production to keep up with demand.” The problem has been cited as a shortage of components, suggesting that Oculus VR can’t provide specific details due to any partnership it may have set up with a third party to provide those components. That doesn’t help the frustrated customers looking for their orders, though.

The Oculus Rift isn’t the only VR HMD with shipping woes; HTC and Valve’s HTC Vive is also struggling with some deliveries in certain parts of the world. Hopefully these issues can be resolved as quickly as possible, but in the meantime fans will have to be patient.
