Wednesday is already here so we’re back with another Life In 360° and for today we’re up and most definitely down with Oblivion at Alton Towers in the UK. Unlike other ride experiences that are using virtual reality (VR), such as the recent Derren Brown’s Ghost Train at other British theme park Thorpe Park.

Oblivion is a vertical drop roller coaster and the footage is simply filmed in 360 degrees. Still, not only do you get a chance to hurtle towards the ground, dropping a staggering 180 feet at up to 4.5G’s you can also use Oblivion’s height to have a good look at the surrounding area – as well as check out the reactions of the people hurtling downwards with you.

You can find out more about the Oblivion ride here.VRFocus will be back Friday with another Life In 360°.
