After our adventure with Jazz music on Wednesday we’re back with automobiles. They’ve featured a few times on Life In 360°, be it in a professional sport context or exploring the collections of enthusiasts. Today’s 360 degree offering falls into the latter category, complete with a celebrity twist.

Production companies OffAbbot, NoSlate Productions and software company SAP teamed up with New York Yankees baseball hall of fame inductee and car aficionado Reggie Jackson for a short video which delves into Jackson’s classic car collection. Jackson, who also runs a garage specialising in classic automobile parts, guides you through the kind of cars that he collects and also gives an overview for his plans for the garage. You also get to ride along with Jackson in his 1955 Chevy as he explains how it all began.

“We had to rig up the camera carefully to not damage the cars, and spent a lot of time in post rotoscoping the rigging.” Recalls filmmaker Matt Celia on the ride along section. “The first time I walked into Reggie’s garage, and heard his story, I got goosebumps and knew that virtual reality was the perfect medium to share his incredible story.”

VRFocus will be back next week for more adventures in 360 degrees.
