Welcome back to another week on VRFocus and another trip to the FIA’s Formula E Championship. We’ve previously reported on Formula E and their efforts to present to you races in virtual reality (VR), as well as covered them on Life In 360° before. On this occasion however we’re bringing you something very different.

Imagine you are standing in the middle of the road and a car is coming towards you. You don’t move to either side of the road to get out of the way, instead you stand your ground, right up until the very last minute when you jump over it. Damien Walters is a professional stuntman, and he is going to do just that. Except that he is going to be doing a somersault – a back somersault. Too slow and he gets hit by the car, but too fast and he runs the risk of jumping onto the rear wing. Did I mention he would also be facing away and effectively jumping blind?

The video follows both the view from the crowd and from the car closing down on Walters from behind. It’s an expert piece of skill from a highly trained professional. Life In 360° will be back Wednesday with another example of 360 degree video in action.
