Coming a week after their last demonstration of their technology the team behind the Virtuix Omni have released a new video. Whilst last time saw an Oculus Rift CV1 wearer take on the horrors of Dreadhalls on this occasion active virtual reality (VR) is being used to explore the various features of Altspace with the assistance of the HTC Vive.

After a busy 2015 which saw AltspaceVR launch an open beta for the VR communication platform, bring in new funds, bring support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) and introduced human avatars, among other things. 2016 has continued to be big on development. With new technology and support for other HMDs, such as the smartphone based Samsung Gear VR device.

Virtuix, which itself raised some significant capital earlier this year through several rounds of funding, initially for the purpose of ‘testing-the-waters’. Their Virtuix Omni omnidirectional treadmill for VR experiences, is one of the most recognisable VR gaming accessories for additional immersion. Previously showing off the technology being used with other video game titles such as Minecraft.

VRFocus will continue to bring you news of both AltspaceVR and Virtuix, reporting back with any further updates from both firms.
