As expected, Samsung’s latest smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, were announced yesterday at the 2016 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. Both handsets support the company’s mobile-based virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), Gear VR, which is made in partnership with Oculus VR. In fact, the kit will be going free to the first people to pre-order the new phones, and Oculus VR will be offering content bundles worth $50 USD to people that take advantage of this offer.

Judging by a new Oculus VR blog post, three bundles will be offered through three unspecified carriers. Each bundle offers six titles, with each getting Gunfire Games’ Herobound: Spirit Champion and Steel Crate Games’ Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. The first bundle also offers CCP Games’ Gunjack, Coatsink Software’s Esper 2, Robot Invader’s Dead Secret and Escape Velocity’s Star Chart. The second includes OZWE Games’ Anshar Wars 2, E McNeill’s Darknet, SharpSense’s DRIFT, and Star Chart. The final bundle has Ustwo Games’ Land’s End, Skonec Entertainment’s Mortal Blitz VR, Glu Games’ Deer Hunter VR and Llyr ap Cenydd’s Ocean Rift.

Of these titles, Gunjack, Esper 2, Dead Secret, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Land’s End, and Anshar Wars 2 were awarded top marks by VRFocus in reviews. That puts the first bundle as offering the most 5/5 videogames, so it may be an idea to look out for where this one will be offered. That said, each bundle offers a good amount of titles that are at least worth checking out.

Stay tuned to VRFocus for the latest updates on the Gear VR.
