Over the past year you may have seen VRFocus report on the progress of WakingApp, a cloud-based platform for creating virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) content known as The ENTiTi Creator. The platform’s aim is to allow anyone to make content for these new technologies and then share them via an app. Apparently, no development skills will be required for people to do this. Today sees that system finally launch as a public version, letting people get their hands on it for the very first time.

VR content made through The ENTiTi Creator – an example of which is seen in the image above – will be able to be viewed though mobile head-mounted displays (HMDs) such as Google Cardboard, Zeiss VR One, FreeFly VR and, in the future, Gear VR. The support will also be extending to the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive PC-based HMDs later down the line. WakingApp will also be working to integrate other third-party devices such as controllers and depth sensors while building a marketplace for those that build this content.

The current release includes 20 templates for starting development, a logic system to create 3D content, a refined user experience and finalised documentation to help users.

“Our groundbreaking VR/AR creator allows professionals, from advertisers and architects to developers and designers, to create their own content and connect with their target audiences in new ways,” said Udi Shani, CEO of WakingApp. “Our goal is to connect to millions of potential content creators out there, so that billions of potential viewers have something to watch. Without an easy content creation tool, the virtual reality industry will grow slowly.”
