If you’re not a videogame developer then one of the few ways to try the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) has been at events. For anyone living in the UK, the next major show will be EGX Rezzed, taking place in London during April. The event is focused around developers but anyone can attend, and the organisers have recently announced the HTC Vive will be available for demonstration.

For EGX Rezzed 2016 the HTC Vive headset will have five playable titles for attendees to immerse themselves in. There will be Arizona Sunshine from Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive, a first-person shooter (FPS) involving zombies; Fantastic Contraption, a building title from Northway Games; Tilt Brush, which allows players paint in virtual reality (VR); Owlchemy Labs’ Job Simulator which features a range of jobs, as people in the future don’t need to work as robots do it all and finally TheBluVR, an immersive underwater shipwreck experience.

EGX Rezzed is held from 7th – 9th April 2016, at the Tobacco Dock, London. By this time the HTC Vive pre-orders should have started shipping as pre-orders are due to go live on 29th February, with shipping beginning in April. The headset will be retailing for $799 USD, and will include the Lighthouse Room Scale tracking system, and the two motion-tracked wireless controllers, a redemption code for both Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives and Fantastic Contraption, a Vive Link Box and Vive Ear Bud Headphones.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of EGX Rezzed, reporting back any further VR news.
