If you’re a fan of World War 2 shooters and you own a HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) then The Last Sniper VR has launched today.
Created by solo developer Robert Weaver of Brilliant Game Studios, The Last Sniper VR immerses players in various scenarios that aren’t just about shooting enemies in the head from extreme distances.
You’ll be able to jump out of an airplane as an allied soldier in Operation Market Garden, or defend Omaha beach from the hordes of Americans as a German machine gunner. There’s close quarter gun battles where players can duel wield pistols and sub-machine guns or simply grab whatever is at hand to use as a weapon.
Its the sniper element that’s the main focus of the gameplay though. Set during the surrender of Paris you’ll play a lone soldier hunting the enemy and experience realistic weapon simulation, from bullet drops, to manual reloading of your weapon. All of the actions are replicated for the HTC Vive’s motion controllers as The Last Sniper VR aims to give you idea of what it might have been like to be a soldier in World War 2, with intense visuals and sounds.
