At the currently ongoing NAB 2016, Las Vegas, GoPro has unveiled its new solution for a professional 360 degree video pipeline. This includes stitching and publishing in high-resolution for virtual reality (VR), as well as the Omni and Odyssey camera systems.

The Omni six-camera spherical array and Odyssey panoramic stereoscopic 16-camera rig will be on display at NAB 2016, the latter of which is designed to work with Google’s Jump VR Platform. GoPro is presenting a live broadcast solution with technical demonstrations of the wireless VR technology.

GoPro has also introduced GoPro VR, a platform to view and share VR video content. The platform allows users to experience the immersive world of 360 degree video, showcasing original content from GoPro and a global community of artists. GoPro VR is available on the web, free mobile app, or experienced on a mobile head-mounted display (HMD).

The Omni package offers a complete pipeline for capture and distribution of VR content. Capture using Omni, use GoPro Omni Importer for preview, data management and rendering, fine tune the content in Kolor Autopano Video, then proof the content in GoPro VR player and publish it to the GoPro VR website. Pre-orders for the Omni begin today, 8am PT, priced at $4,999.99 USD. The package will include One GoPro Omni Sync Rig, GoPro Kolor Software License, six GoPro HERO4 Black cameras and batteries, a GoPro Smart Remote, six GoPro Mini USB Cables, 32GB microSD Cards, card readers  and a rugged shipping case. An additional Omni SKU is offered at $1,499.99, and additionally includes a Waterproof Shipping Case, Plastic Tweezers, Microfiber Bag and a 2.5mm Hex Key.

The Odyssey, GoPro’s high-end solution, is available via a Limited Access Program, priced at $15,000.00. GoPro Odyssey includes 16 HERO4 Black cameras, synchronised down to the pixel-level.
