In just under two weeks time smartphone manufacturer Samsung will be hosting its Galaxy Unpacked event on Sunday 21st, February 2016. The company released a teaser trailer at the beginning of the month featuring the Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD). While virtual reality (VR) is expected to be a big part, its reported that Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Now it seems the first images of the two flagship devices have been leaked.

The two images are from different sites reports IGN. The first image shows the rear of the Galaxy S7 and originates from Vietnamese website reviewdao.vn. The website has claimed to have had a hands on with the device, with specifications listing two different processors, a Exynos 8890 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. Battery life for the smartphone is said to be similar to the Galaxy Note 5, it includes Samsung’s quick-charging technology, taking a flat battery to 80 per cent in 30 minutes.

The second image, of the Galaxy S7 Edge, originated from Chinese microblogging website Weibo. No specs have been reported but IGN does note the AnTuTu benchmarking score shown in the image.

Apart from further details on the flagship phones its unclear if they’ll support the current Gear VR headset (which is likely), or if a new version could be planned.

VR Fans will have to wait until later this month to find out, and when details are released VRFocus will be there to bring you the latest news.
