ROCKFISH Games has today announced that the closed alpha for their roguelike space shooter, EVERSPACE, which will is set to launch this month. As a special treat for virtual reality (VR) audiences, the closed alpha is offering basic Oculus Rift support as standard.

The closed alpha testing phase of EVERSPACE will allow players to explore the first four sectors in one of three spaceships set to be available in the release version. Players can equip and upgrade their spaceship in many different ways, including over 20 devices and consumables and 32 perks to be unlocked.

“After a bit more than a year of intensive development, we are happy to be able to make the alpha version of EVERSPACE available on April 29th to our supporters with the appropriate reward level,” said Michael Schade, CEO and co-founder of ROCKFISH Games. “Once again we would like to thank everyone who has supported us during the Kickstarter campaign and after, not just financially, but also with their feedback and social media activities. Very special thanks go out to Chris Roberts, who sent a friendly armada of Star Citizens our way, giving us massive support at the end of the campaign.”

Gamers who are interested in participating in the closed alpha or the later closed beta of EVERSPACE can secure access until 30th April 2016 in the pre-sale on the official website.

The closed alpha testing phase for EVERSPACE will begin on 29th April 2016. A second testing phase, closed beta, is planned for the end of July and will also include support for HTC Vive as well as Mac and Linux. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on EVERSPACE.
