Following the reports on the content of the show, it has now been announced that the Virtual Reality Developers Conference (VRDC) will be holding its virtual reality (VR) exclusive event at the end of the year with some of the biggest players in the newly forming industry.

VRDC will premier content from creators of immersive VR, and augmented reality (AR), and has its official date for its first standalone event. The types of attendees that the event is aiming to attract are designers, programmers, business professionals, producers, artists, and audio practitioners. It is stated in a press release that the reason behind creating this event is to “meet the growing demand of high-quality content in the space”.

There are a range of sessions that can be viewed and enjoyed during the two-day events, including ones from NASA and Chernobyl VR Project, who will be engaging in reflecting the event’s broad scope and top tier content. “Now that VR platforms have hit the market, virtual experiences that entertain, inform, and provide entirely new ways to engage are increasingly in demand,” explained Meggan Scavio, General Manager of both VRDC and GDC. “We’re thrilled to provide the highest quality content for VR developers, while exploring innovative applications for the technology across entertainment, healthcare, journalism, travel, manufacturing, retail, live events, real estate, training, and so much more.”

The advisory board is sprinkled with VR specialists, including Valve’s Chet Faliszek, Google’s Noah Falstein, Magic Leap’s Graeme Devine, as well as figures from experiences such as Job Simulator and Fantastic Contraption, as well as a whole catalog of VR companies.

The VR exclusive event will take place 2nd – 3rd November in the Park Central Hotel in San Francisco, California, US. To register or submit your ‘speaking abstract’ by 8th July on its website.
