There will always be developments of titles to simulate World War I and World War II combat, and in one of the latest releases for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) from the weekend, Dogfight Elite simulates airplane combat in WWI and WWII.

The World War sim allows players to nose dive into the combat that is focused on by many titles to varying degrees, and in Dogfight Elite it seems as though the gameplay is kept to the basics. Even though it is an Early Access videogame, the developers have explained that the title is in fact “90% there”, and so what is previewed in the screenshots will most probably be what the end result in terms of design. The title itself will feature playable airplanes as well as tanks which you can either navigate yourself or jump out of to take on combat by hand as a soldier.

What will be added in the last 10% of the improved final version are new airplanes and mission types, and once the war sim becomes available it is also expected that the price will remain the same as what will be featured on the Steam Store page.

The title is not currently available, but it will be playable on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, with the use of motion controllers, gamepad, and the classic keyboard and mouse. The title will also be available as a single and multiplayer videogame: “You can also play alone and fly through training levels all the way up to full-blown dogfights against enemy planes.”
