British developer Codemasters began teasing a few months ago that a virtual reality (VR) version of its racing title DiRT Rally would be heading to the consumer version of the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Then earlier this week graphics card manufacturer NVIDIA revealed news through a driver update that DiRT Rally VR would be arriving this month. A day later Codemasters then officially confirmed when that would be, and released a brand new trailer to showcase the title.

Getting a VR makeover, DiRT Rally VR brings the high octane racing videogame officially onto the Oculus Rift next Monday 11th July 2016. Rally fans will be able to immerse themselves in the sport, racing across a variety of surfaces, from tarmac, gravel, mud, snow and more.

There’s no outside view in VR racing, players are strapped into the drivers seat to give that authentic feel of racing at break neck speeds, hurtling through forests, winding through twisting mountain paths and hand breaking 180-degree corners.

DiRT Rally VR will available simultaneously on Oculus Home and Steam. For Players that have already purchased the title on Steam they receive an update on the release date.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of DiRT Rally VR, reporting back with any further VR updates.
