The annual VRTGO Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) conference and expo was held yesterday in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, UK, and announced was the winner for its virtual reality (VR) competition. The contest which opened in September was created in collaboration with VR developer nDreams as well as digital entertainment organisation Ukie, graphics company NVIDIA and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE). The competition was won by Head Start Design with its VR entry, Dimensional.

Patrick O’Luanaigh CEO of nDreams handed Brett Jackson from Head Start Design the award after finishing his talk on ‘Travelling Without Moving: Controlling Movement in Virtual Reality’.

As the winner Jackson got the chance to exhibit Dimensional at the main VRTGO event yesterday, as well as receiving mentoring by nDreams. Head Start Design will also be named in competition press and will receive a free affiliation to VRTGO Labs. In addition to this, the studio will also receive ‘An Afternoon with PlayStation’, where they’ll get to visit the SCEE offices for a design consultation session from the PlayStation VR team and the opportunity to play some exclusive demos.
