Yesterday VRFocus reported that Dead Secret, a new murder mystery videogame from Robot Invader, would be coming to the PlayStation VR virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) for PlayStation 4 in 2016. At the time it wasn’t clear if the title would still be heading to the platform it was originally announced for, the Gear VR mobile HMD. But mobile VR fans need not worry; not only does this version of the title still exist, it’s actually now been released. Not only that, but Dead Secret is also on its way to the Oculus Rift HMD on PC.
Robot Invader revealed as much following the announcement of the PlayStation VR version yesterday. On Gear VR, Dead Secret costs $9.99 USD. While this appears to be the full version of the title, it’s likely that the PC and console iterations will feature improved visuals given the added power of the systems, and the HMDs will be able to take advantage of positional tracking, which doesn’t feature on Gear VR. In terms of those releases, Dead Secret will come to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Steam without VR support in January 2016 before following up with PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift support later on in the year, likely after each has had its official consumer launch.
Dead Secret is a first-person experience in which players take on the role of an eager journalist. The title has them investigate the murder of Harris Bullard, a reclusive man whose death wasn’t flagged as suspicious by the police. Set inside Bullard’s home five days after the crime, players will explore the house, looking for clues as to what’s transpired. This marks Robot Invader’s first VR project, having previously worked on the likes of Wind-up Knight, Wind-up Knight 2 and Rise of the Blobs.
