Blippar the augmented reality (AR) app company that has created an AR portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, combined the technology with British bank notes and created AR covers for popular newsstand magazines, has announced a new venture. The AR company has now launched a new virtual reality (VR) app Cardio VR, designed for children.

Cardio VR is the first project launched by Blippar Lab, the company’s new innovation and R&D unit. The app has been designed for use with the Google Cardboard or similar head-mounted display (HMD). Cardio VR creates a fun, kid-friendly VR experience by enabling users to enter an animated cartoon doctor’s office and follow along with the experience to identify patients’ ailments and remedy their conditions. Innovative game-play functionality offers users a user friendly way to interact with VR , enabling players to control game action exclusively through a user’s head movements, fully immersing them in the colourful, animated world.

“Cardio VR from Blippar Lab demonstrates our agile, creative approach to using technology in a virtual reality environment,” said Steve Spencer, Chief Experience Officer at Blippar in a statement. “We’re excited to push the evolution of VR with an invisible user interface designed specifically for how kids will use Google Cardboard.”

Cardio VR is available tp download on both iOS and Android for free now. VRFocus will continue to follow the latest news from Blippar, reporting back on any announcements.
