The virtual reality (VR) industry understandably hasn’t seen too many sequels so far in its short life. In fact, the lack of real consumer hardware right now makes it all the more surprising that some developers are already working on follow-ups to their initial projects. One such developer is Climax Studios, the team behind the Bandit Six series on the Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD). The original title hit the mobile platform earlier in the year and its sequel Bandit Six: Salvo is shaping up to release in the next few weeks. VRFocus recently caught up with the developer to talk about the project.

In the interview below Producer Pamela Peterson talks us through what’s new with Bandit Six: Salvo. Peterson explains how the sequel differs from the original in which players operated a turret on a World War 2-era fighter. The sequel remains in WW2, but instead sees players defend locations with a series of ground-based weapons.

VRFocus will continue to follow Climax Studios’ work in VR closely, reporting back with any further updates from the company.
