Cityscape Repairman To Launch This Month on Gear VR

Peter Fisher a 3D VR Artist who has created a number of virtual reality (VR) experiences for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), including the sci-fi inspired Close Encounters, has announced new details for his Gear VR project Cityscape Repairman. The title which is a spin-off of his Cityscape experience from last year’s Leap Motion 3D Jam is now due to release later this month for the mobile HMD.

Cityscape Repairman casts players as a repairman that looks after the neon-drenched environment of Cityscape. Players guide their character through small industrial scenes, fixing broken machines and replacing fuses as they solve puzzles and fend off attacking robots. The title is mainly viewed from a third-person perspective, although for certain challenges the videogame does move to a first-person view in order to help players solve them.

Fisher has also revealed he’s joined Khora ApS a VR content creation company started by Simon Lajboschitz in Copenhagen, Denmark. Khora ApS has a HTC Vive development kit and the team are currently re-working Cityscape Repairman for the headsets LightRoom room scale tracking system and motion controllers.

VRFocus will continue to follow the progress of Cityscape Repairman, reporting back with the latest announcements.
