For many consumers it may seem like a wait of a lifetime when counting down the days till the launch of their pre-ordered virtual reality (VR) kit, but when attending events such as the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), there are plenty of chances to get your hands on what will be yours in time to come. It has emerged that E3-goers will be able to download an app for PlayStation VR, and will be able to book an appointment to go try out the head-mounted display (HMD).

For those who will be attending the event in the Los Angeles Convention Center this week, you could be in for a treat to try out the PlayStation VR HMD which is yet to come out in October 2016. This service will be available starting tomorrow via an app, although it is not available at this time. Even though the event hasn’t officially started, on Google Play there is an Experience PlayStation app which allows users to find out where to experience PlayStation’s latest releases, book a time slot to try out the PlayStation VR, unlock exclusive PSN voucher codes, and generally keep up to date with what PlayStation has to offer.

Previously at events before the HTC Vive was released, HTC held the same types of promotions at events, so as well as E3 it might be worth trying to track down the closest event to you where the PlayStation VR will be to try it out if you can’t make it to E3. It isn’t clear what experiences attendees will be able to try out on the PlayStation VR HMD, but there has been a list released of some of the titles that will be available, including Rez Infinite, EVE: Valkyrie, Harmonix Music VR, Headmaster, Super Hypercube, Thumper, Wayward Sky, 100ft Robot Golf, Battlezone, and Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin.
