Earlier this year the developer for Lunar Flight released a video showing off the cockpit designed for the virtual reality (VR) remastered version of the arcade classic Lunar Landing. It has now been announced that the title is now available for the Oculus Rift CV1 head-mounted display (HMD) on Steam for Early Access, as well as from the Humble Widget.

On Reddit it was shared by the developer that Lunar Flight had been released, but still as a beta build, for the Oculus Rift CV1 and it is still expected that there will be additional features to be developed before the final version. These include multiplayer gameplay; replays, which should be available within a week of this release, and with this feature you will be able to show friends your gameplay; EVA (exiting the module) is also to be implemented.

What counts as a more immediate act of optimisation of the game are ability to play VR Preset on minimum speficication machines, frame rate gains, use of Valve Lab Renderer, and expansion for HTC Vive.

The developer of Lunar Flight said on Reddit: “I am really excited to finally let people try out all the work that has been going on for the last 9 months or so. It has been a source of much anxiety but I am feeling pretty good about releasing this ‘Early Access’ beta.”

There are a couple of places that you can get the game as previously mentioned. On Steam it is available for $14.99 (USD), whereas on the Humble Widget it is available for a cheaper price of $10. The developer explained that this is because he received 95% of the total from Humble Widget, as opposed to 70% from Steam.
