One of the growing genres in virtual reality (VR) is that of the wave shooter, there are several notable titles including Space Pirate Trainer for the HTC Vive. A title that VRFocus‘ own Zeena recently tried out at E3 with the aid of some mixed reality (MR). Not all titles in this genre use the same methods though and one of these, Octoshield VR for the Valve backed HTC Vive head mounted display (HMD) has just released a new trailer.
In Octoshield VR you use a mysterious disc in order to both attack enemies by hurling it at them and by holding it as a shield to deflect their oncoming laser fire in a similar method to TRON’s Deadly Discs/Disc Wars. Developed by Anthony Pigeot the room scale title is currently in early access on Steam.
