Back in May 2015 developer Spectral Illusions launched horror title Cyberphobia for the Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted display (HMD). This was the first virtual reality (VR) title from the company and today sees the launch of its first videogame for the HTC Vive on Steam. Called Astral Domine, the videogame is an first-person adventure set on an alien world.

After crash landing on the alien planet players must explore the world and the ancient kingdom that’s been built there. In the ruins lie an energy sphere that can restore power to your space ship and get you home.

The trailer which launched late last month showcases a grim, desolate world inhabited with a variety of creatures, from flying insects to giant mechanical monsters. The HTC Vive’s positional-tracked controllers act as guns, firing glowing orbs to dispatch enemies and interact with the environment.

Astral Domine can be downloaded for £14.99 GBP, and there’s also a free demo available if you wish to try it out first. VRFocus will continue its coverage of Spectral Illusions VR projects, reporting back any new updates.
