Bandai Namco’s Ace Combat series is finally returning. Ace Combat 7 has been announced today at the PlayStation Experience in San Francisco, California. But the reveal has come with another surprise; the title won’t just support the PlayStation VR virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) but is in fact exclusive to the device.

The announcement was made during Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE’s) opening keynote conference. A brief trailer showcased a fighter jet going up against thousands of enemies as a player fell through the sky.

Few other details about the project have been revealed right now. VRFocus will continue to follow Ace Combat 7, reporting back with the latest updates on the title.
