American broadcaster ABC has embraced virtual reality (VR) with several experiences including Inside North Korea and Inside Syria, both made in partnership with Jaunt. Now ABC has announced the launch of a new VR video that puts viewers on the dance floor with the pro-dancers and troupe members of Dancing with the Stars.

Recorded at the last televised show, the immersive video is from the opening disco dance routine. Set to Donna Summer’s Last Dance, the routine was choreographed by Dancing with the Stars Mandy Moore and features Pro-dancers: Lindsay Arnold, Mark Ballas, Sharna Burgess,Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Val Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Sasha Farber, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Karina Smirnoff and troupe members: Alan Bersten, Hayley Erbert, Shannon Holtzapffel, Dennis Jauch, Jenna Johnson and Kiril Kulish.

“We are incredibly excited to bring this brand new experience to the fans of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ Fans at home will literally feel as though they are right in the middle of the ballroom floor.  And it is definitely worth watching multiple times in order to take in all the brilliant choreography Mandy Moore has put together,” shared Dan Martin, co executive producer, “Dancing with the Stars.”

“We have been building an in-house expertise in this area and wanted our first project to be a visual feast, which it is. It truly captures all the excitement, glamour and talent that is “Dancing with the Stars,” added Robert Schefferine, VP production, ABC Entertainment Marketing.

The clip is available to view on ABC.com/VR, the Dancing with the Stars Facebook and YouTube pages, and via Littlstar’s app. VRFocus will continue its coverage of ABC’s latest VR projects, reporting back any further announcements.
