There are several ways to get into virtual reality (VR) depending on your budget. At the lower end you’ve got Google Cardboard which fits numerous smartphones, or the slightly more expensive Samsung Gear VR, which only works with the company’s higher end Galaxy smartphones. But for the best experience gamers need a decent PC to run either the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive headsets (until PlayStation VR launches of course). And while prices are coming down thanks to new graphics cards from NVIDIA and AMD, a decent rig is still a sizeable investment if you’re buy one straight off the shelf. The code is CPAMD5.
Certified to run both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive head-mounted displays, the desktop features an Intel i5-6402P Quad Core 2.8GHz processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD and an AMD RX 480 4GB graphics card.
It’s possibly one of the cheapest all-in-one PC’s available at the moment, and the only way to save more money would be to build a PC yourself. And with both headsets a lot more readily available online and at various retail locations, all companies involved are making it easier than ever to dive into VR.
