A couple of days ago VRFocus reported on Atomic VR’s fruit slicing sword simulator ZenBlade (formerly Ninja Trainer) would be released on Steam Early Access in May. Now though, the developer has now announced that the title is available today for the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) having been Greenlit.

In the update Atomic VR states: “We just got green lit for early access with ZenBlade! We also just implemented leaderboards which include a daily leaderboard, your rank, and the top ten all time “ZenBlade Masters.”
“When the game launches it defaults to minimum spec GTX 970 settings. If you have greater than a GTX 970 than you can launch from the exe and select a higher quality setting. To do this, double click on the ZenBlade.exe file while quickly afterwards pressing the ALT key. This will get you to the settings menu and once set will default to that selection from then out. Also, you can mute the music by pressing the “M” key.” The developer does note that this fiddly functionality: “will be taken care of shortly with a VR options menu.”

Design purely to make full use of the HTC Vive’s Room Scale positional-tracking system, players are challenged with slicing up fruit to gain combos and achieve highscores, just watch out of the explosives.

ZenBlade can be purchased for £10.99 GBP, and VRFocus will bring you any further updates on the title as they’re released.
