A total of 30 new virtual reality (VR) videogames are set to be released early next week as part of the launch line-up for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Among them is Windlands, a long-anticipated project that was acquired by Psytec Games last year after passing an IndieGoGo crowd-funding campaign back in 2014. This week, the developer has confirmed that Windlands will indeed be ready for that launch, announcing that the title has finally gone gold.

The official Twitter account for the videogame confirmed the news. On top of that a new version of the title has been released for those that purchased the Early Access version. The title is also coming to the HTC Vive, though it’s not yet clear if it will be launching alongside that device as well on 5th April, and if it will then feature the planned support for tracked motion controllers. Windlands will be supporting both gamepads and this other option.

Windlands is a first-person experience in which players explore enormous areas with the aid of an enhanced jumping mechanic and a pair of grappling hooks that allows them to swing through the air by latching onto other surfaces. Players will navigate through the remains of a ruined civilisation. Elsewhere, Psytec Games is also working on its first-person VR dungeon crawling videogame, Crystal Rift. A full release date for the project on either the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive is yet to be set.
