Next Thursday, 12th November will see the virtual reality (VR) community descend onto Newcastle, UK for the annual VRTGO conference. The event will feature speakers from CCP Games, nDreams, PlayStation VR, Unity and many more. Organisers for the event have now revealed that Samsung will be bringing the new consumer version of its VR head-mounted display (HMD) Gear VR, to the show for visitors to demo.

The consumer Gear VR was announced back in September, at the Oculus Connect 2 developers conference in Los Angeles, California. VRTGO will be the first UK event to showcase the new Gear VR HMD prior to its launch towards the end of November.

Jason Lovell, wearable’s senior product manager at Samsung Electronics UK (SEUK) commented in a statement: “The VRTGO event is very timely as we will shortly be releasing our first consumer Samsung Gear VR headset, so attendees will get a chance to try out the device for themselves and ask any development questions they may have.”

“Enabling people to use the Gear VR headset in a free and open environment means that VRTGO attendees will be able to not only experience the product, but also engage with the development team behind it and understand many of the nuances that make it a stand out device,” he added.

VRFocus will be at the event to bring you any announcements.
