Last year Opposable Games, the developer behind upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible videogame, Salvaged, ran a huge event dedicated to VR technology in Bristol, UK. The show, named South West VR Conference, saw developers, enthusiasts and more gather to talk about the latest VR tech, best practises for working with it and much more. The event is returning in another form this year as the VR World Congress, again held in Bristol at the Marriott City Centre. Recently the show has added some new speakers to its line-up, including some that are working or have worked on high-profile VR titles.

VR World Congress 2016 will run on 12th April from 09:00 GMT to 17:00 and hopes to see around 600 attendees made up of developers, buyers, experts and many more from around the world. A handful of speakers for the event have already been announced, but added to them now is David Fernádez Huerta of Land’s End developer Ustwo Games and James Valls of Battlezone developer Rebellion. They’ll be joined by Katie Goode from Smash Hit Plunder developer Triangular Pixels, Paul Deane from the BBC and Roy Taylor for AMD. Speakers will feature across two talk tracks throughout the day.

A dedicated expo space will also feature, allowing people to try out the latest VR software and tech. Confirmed exhibitors include nDreams with its upcoming first-person adventure title, The Assembly, Frontier Developers with its ever-popular VR compatible space simulation, Elite: Dangerous and StarShip with its social app, vTime. Block Interval will also be revealing the first seven minutes of its new adventure title, Life of Lon. Tickets to the event are on sale now over on an EventBrite page.

“It’s great to finally announce our new conference. The overwhelming success of our South West VR conference (SWVR) last year inspired us to think bigger and better for 2016,” said VR World Conference organiser Dan Page, “We’re proud to be bringing some seriously awesome key names and brands in VR from around the globe to Bristol, the hub of VR development in the UK.”
