It’s not every genre of videogame that works well on virtual reality (VR) but that’s something that definitely can’t be said for escape the room puzzle videogames. From Escape Room to Neverout, there are plenty of these titles available on VR already but the sheer number of them shows just how well the genre works. Now another of these first person puzzles, this one called VR: Vacate the Room, has launched a Steam Greenlight campaign.
VR: Vacate the Room appears to be a fairly standard addition to the escape the room genre and at the moment it only supports the HTC Vive headset. Drawing inspiration from classic titles like Crimson Room, Vacate the Room is a short VR experience where players will find themselves locked inside a room, forced to uncover clues and solve puzzles in order to find their way out. Judging from the screenshots that have been released on the videogame’s Steam page, the room players will have to escape from in this title is a modern one with pop culture references that will raise a smile.
