Late last year VRFocus reported on the reveal of an intriguing new virtual reality (VR) videogame by the name of Klepto. Developed by Meerkat Gaming, the burglary simulator sadly failed to raise funding via a small IndieGoGo crowd-funding campaign in which it had hoped to get $2,500 USD. Despite this, Meerkat Gaming has this month launched a demo for Klepto that can be downloaded for free and played on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift head-mounted displays (HMDs).

Klepto is a third/first-person experience in which players will pick locks, break and enter and climb through windows to access houses and more where they’ll loot objects. As you play you’ll build a reputation, allowing access to better contracts in a sandbox. There’s also multiplayer modes, supporting both co-op and competitive. The demo is available from the title’s official Steam listing.

The title will first release in Early Access on 17th May 2016. While a price hasn’t been revealed, this initial release will be set ‘significantly’ lower than the full launch. Meerkat Gaming also estimates that the title will be in this pre-release phase for roughly a year before the main release.
