The Walt Disney Studios has revealed a new virtual reality (VR) experience based on the upcoming live action edition of the classing Walt Disney movie, The Jungle Book. Touring the US now, this new VR experience has the user cast as Mowgli as he meets Kaa for the first time.

Entitled Through Mowgli’s Eyes Part 1: Trust in Me, the name of the experience suggests there will be more to come. A 360 degree video preview is available via Facebook now, with a tour of the full experience being hosts at cinemas across the US. According to Animation World Network, the tour dates and locations are as follows:

The VR Tour in IMAX Theaters at AMC Theatres:

3/24-3/27 in Los Angeles, Houston and Boston

4/1 – 4/3 in San Diego, Kansas City and New York

4/8 – 4/10 in San Francisco, Chicago and Philadelphia

4/14 – 4/17 in Seattle, Minneapolis and Washington D.C.

This is not the first time The Walt Disney Studios has dabbled with VR, with early experiments having been made available to the public as part of the Disney Quest location in Walt Disney World, Orlando, and a recently revealed Star Wars experience coming to Walt Disney Resorts later this year.

It’s not yet known whether the Through Mowgli’s Eyes Part 1: Trust in Me experience will make it to locations outside of the US, but of course VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details.
