In the run up to Christmas the virtual reality (VR) community in California are gearing up for the festive period with more meetup celebrations. Yesterday VRFocus reported on Orange County VR holding its second Monster Mixer event on Monday 14th. Now Silicon Valley Virtual Reality (SVVR) has announced its latest event with a holiday party on Thursday, 17th December, hosted by cinematic VR company, Jaunt.

The meetup will feature three announced presentations alongside demonstrations held later on. The talks come from Daniel Burwen,  Director of Experience – Jaunt, Matt Bell,  Founder & Chief Strategy Officer at Matterport and Maureen Fan, CEO of Baobab Studios, a VR animation company that creates story and character driven cinematic experiences.

Bell will be presenting the latest news and developments from Matterport, including the company’s new VR app on the GearVR head-mounted display (HMD). The app allows users to explore amazing locations spanning fancy castles and palaces, renowned museums and art galleries, celebrity homes, and historical sites.

The SVVR Meetup #25 will be held at Jaunt’s offices 395 Page Mill Road, Palo Alto, Califonia, with an entry fee of $5 USD. Doors will open at 6:30pm, with presentations starting at 7pm. After which demos will be available until 10:00pm.

VRFocus will continue to bring you the latest meetup announcement details as they’re released.
