When Samsung launched the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge flagship smartphones at its Unpacked Event prior to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016, it also unveiled a Gear VR offer. Anyone pre-ordering the devices would be able to get a free Gear VR with a content bundle included. The response to the offer was undoubtedly popular as the company has now brought it and expand the applicable devices.

So now anyone who purchases a Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 or Galaxy Note5 between 1st – 19th June will be eligible for a free Gear VR head-mounted display )HMD) plus the additional Oculus content bundle.

Previously Samsung released three different content bundles. The first bundle offered CCP Games’ Gunjack, Coatsink Software’s Esper 2, Robot Invader’s Dead Secret and Escape Velocity’s Star Chart. The second includes OZWE Games’ Anshar Wars 2, E McNeill’s Darknet, SharpSense’s DRIFT, and Star Chart. The third bundle has Ustwo Games’ Land’s End, Skonec Entertainment’s Mortal Blitz VR, Glu Games’ Deer Hunter VR and Llyr ap Cenydd’s Ocean Rift.

It’s unclear if all three will be offered but it’s likely each carrier will have a one of those three attributed to it. The offer also looks to be US-based only as the Samsung promotional page lists companies such as Walmart, AT&T and Best Buy on a drop down menu for where customers purchased from.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Samsung Gear VR and its related offers, reporting back with the latest updates.
