It’s rare to find someone who hasn’t already encountered the escape the room type of videogame, and it doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon now that Vacate the Room has come to the HTC Vive, and during its Early Access campaign it continues to update its gameplay.
Since its release on Steam at the end of last month, Vacate the Room has already seen updates such as object obtainability, spatial audio, and trading cards. Players can now use a cane to get to far objects if they are in small rooms, as well as swap objects with others to create more ease when handling them.
The trading cards are the latest update made to the videogame this month, where players can now collect, trade, and level up using these new trading cards which should drop into the room for you to grab for yourself.
Drawing inspiration from classic titles like Crimson Room, Vacate the Room is a short VR experience where players will find themselves locked inside a room, forced to uncover clues and solve puzzles in order to find their way out.
With more of these updates, it is sure to see this title graduate from Greenlight soon enough: “The plan is to leave Early Access as soon as possible. But if there are a lot of good ideas from the Steam community, it will stay as long as implementation (or even discussing them) requires.”
The price of the Early Access title is £2.99 (GBP) currently, but with the final version it can be expected for the pricing to go up according o the updates, although it is not set in stone what the price will be.
