Earlier this year the creators of Rick and Morty teased that they had virtual reality (VR) projects in development, but alongside Adult Swim, Owlchemy Labs has stepped up and announced that there will be a Rick and Morty VR videogame, Rick and Morty Simulator: Virtual Rick-ality.

Rick and Morty Simulator: Virtual Rick-ality will no doubt be sprinkled with humour and ridiculousness, just as the trailer below shows. However, there isn’t too much shared about the title other than the assurance of humour, but we do know that there will be portals ready to jump through. In the description, it is said: “Thrust your hands and eyeballs into Rick’s garage with Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality. Touch things! Fondle things! Make horrible mistakes with dire consequences! The future is truly here (and it is deeply unsettling).”

Owlchemy Labs, creators of the slapstick VR title Job Simulator, posted a blog on the announcement, saying: “This is truly a dream project for us. We’ve been huge fans of the franchise since the beginning. Working with Justin Roiland is hilarious, and he gets us. In fact, we first met serendipitously over our mutual love of Job Simulator, got drunk, ate Indian food, and then decided to make a video game together. And now we’re bringing the world of Rick and Morty to virtual life!”

The demo at this year’s Comic-Con 2016 in San Diego will be open to the public to try on The Green from 21st-24th July, 11am until 6pm for the HTC Vive. There is also a chance for an evening with the Rick and Morty creators, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, on the 22nd, with more information shared on the Adult Swim website.
