Next month sees the annual Insomnia videogame event return to the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham, UK for Insomnia58. Often touted as the biggest event in the British gaming calendar, the four day show features the latest videogame tech, with virtual reality (VR) titles also making an appearance. Last month VRFocus reported that the HTC Vive head-mounted display would be on demonstration, and today Multiplay, the company behind the event has announced Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE’s) PlayStation VR will be there, along with Rebellion’s Battlezone.

If you’ve not been reading VRFocus’ continuous coverage of Battlezone, its a VR re-imagining of the classic 80’s title of the same name, where players control destructive tanks in a sci-fi neon lit world with various weapons to destroy the incoming enemies.

Battlezone will be one of the PlayStation VR’s launch titles when the headset arrives on 13th October, and was possibly one of the earliest videogames to state launch day support back in October 2015.

Insomnia58 will be taking place at the NEC on 26th – 29th August 2016, and its famed for its local LAN multiplayer tournaments where players can bring their own PC’s along for the event. Tickets are still available for certain parts of the show, Day Visitor tickets are still on sale for £25 GB, while the weekend festival tickets have already sold out. The Bring Your Own Computer tickets for £99 have almost sold out.

As Multiplay reveals further information on what VR games will be at Insomnia58, VRFocus will bring you the latest details.
