Sony Computer Entertainment New Zealand (SCENZ) has announced it will be bringing the PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD) to the public at Armageddon 2015, 23rd – 26th October 2015. Demonstration slots will be limited, and are being offered through a prize draw.

PlayStation VR has received numerous public outings this year, though Armageddon 2015 is the first official event supported by SCENZ. There will be very limited spaces available to demo PlayStation VR at Armageddon 2015, and as such demonstration passes will be allocated on a first in, first served basis per day at the PlayStation Stand at Armageddon 2015. Additional passes can be won via a prize draw on the official PlayStation New Zealand Facebook page.

Michael Ephraim, Managing Director at Sony Computer Entertainment, said, “PlayStation VR is the single biggest step-change in technology I have seen in my past 20 years in the industry. We are so thrilled to be celebrating our 20th Anniversary and it’s great to look back at all we have achieved, but with innovation like this, I can’t wait to see the future.”

PlayStation VR will feature on the PlayStation stand at Armageddon alongside an Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End theatrette experience, Star Wars: Battlefront, Disney Infinity 3.0, Ratchet & Clank, Street Fighter V and more. The software available to experience on PlayStation VR has not yet been revealed, though VRFocus will report back as-and-when new information is made available.
