The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) has even officially started yet and its not disappointed yet. There’s been all sots of surprise announcements related to virtual reality (VR), with Microsoft unveiling details on its next console Project Scorpio, Ubisoft showcasing the first footage of Star Trek: Bridge Crew, and Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) releasing a barrage for new titles for the PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD). Not revealed at the SIE press conference but quietly released afterwards was a trailer for a horror looking videogame called Here They Lie.

The video itself doesn’t detail a great deal, merely running through a dark sepia toned dystopian world with cockroaches spawning out from behind pictures, and characters with pig heads.

The description states: “Here They Lie transports you to a terrifying world from which you cannot escape. Explore a nightmarish city inhabited by strange, malevolent creatures in this ground-breaking first-person horror game compatible with PlayStation VR.
“Struggle to survive as you wrestle with life or death moral choices and try to uncover the mystery of the woman in yellow.”

The final piece of information comes at the end of the trailer giving a release date of Fall 2016. With PlayStation VR due to launch on 13th October,  Here They Lie could well be a day one launch title for the headset. As VRFocus learns more about the videogame we’ll keep you posted.
