Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE’s) recent announcements at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2016 on price and release date for its virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), PlayStation VR, finally gave PlayStation 4 owners and VR enthusiasts the concrete info they’d been waiting for. While only October 2016 has been confirmed it still means there’s several months to wait before release, so if you want to get your hands on one you’ll need to head to an event and the next is PAX East in Boston, US.

Confirmed via the PlayStation.Blog ten titles will be available for demonstration which are: Rez Infinite; Job Simulator; Thumper; Headmaster; Gnog; Harmonix Music VR; Wayward Sky; Rush of Blood; RIGS: Mechanized Combat League and VR Worlds.

Most of the videogames have already featured heavily at previous events that SIE has attended and Rush of Blood, RIGS: Mechanized Combat League,VR Worlds and Headmaster were all confirmed at GDC 2016 as launch titles.

The PlayStation VR can be pre-ordered for £349/$399 for the base model from several outlets, with this price not including the PlayStation Camera or PlayStation Move controllers. Some retailers have had bundles available which include these extras but stores like Amazon did originally sell out of their allocated stock very quickly.

PAX East will be running from 22nd – 24th April 2016 and VRFocus will continue its coverage of all the latest PlayStation VR news.
