Back in February VRFocus reported that during the Samsung Unpacked event that it was announced that the Samsung Gear VR had over 200 apps available. Those apps certainly are still counting as it has now been stated in Oculus VR’s latest blog that the number of apps has increased by 50% over the span of four months with over 300 apps available for the Samsung Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD).

In the blog post there is a mountain of news to be taken in, and that includes the reveal of how many titles are available for the Gear VR: “Today there are more than 300 games and apps available in the Oculus Store for Gear VR, and at E3 you’ll get a preview of upcoming titles like the medieval action-strategy CastleStorm VR and zombie action shooter Drop Dead.” Both of these titles mentioned will be coming to the Gear VR soon, and it has already been reported that during E3 CastleStorm VR will be officially coming to the mobile-based HMD, and there are more titles that are to be added each week.

For those who are in Los Angeles for the E3 gaming event ths week, you will be able to experience some of the latest titles that are coming to the Gear VR, as it is also stated on the blog that “We’ll also feature the latest games for Gear VR at E3.” Judging from the speed of new titles being added to the Gear VR, it will be interesting to see how long it will take until the next hundred is added to the HMD.

VRFocus will continue to report on the news and reveals that come from E3 over the next week and for all of the latest news and updates in the world of VR, make sure to check back with VRFocus.
