Yesterday VRFocus reported on virtual reality (VR) streaming company NextVR announcing a partnership with Live Nation to broadcast hundreds of live, performances in VR to music fans worldwide. Today the firm has revealed a new collaboration with Time Inc. to develop and distribute immersive live and on-demand content for the newly launched LIFE VR brand via NextVR’s platform.

Announced during the Digital Content NewFronts presentation in New York, LIFE VR will showcase the world through the lens of VR. LIFE VR will offer immersive, storytelling culled from Time Inc.’s 100 global brands – including TIME, People, Entertainment Weekly and Sports Illustrated.

The plans involve Time Inc. and NextVR offering between three to five events this year, through the free NextVR app on the Samsung Gear VR head-mounted display. No details are available yet on what events will be shown or when the first will take place.

This announcement will continue to help grow the NextVR brand and the burgeoning content that’ll be available through the app over the course of 2016. With companies like Time Inc. and Live Nation obviously keen to get into the VR field, this latest partnership can only help to bolster the growing industry.

NextVR also plans to launch the app on other platforms, it just hasn’t said when. As further details emerge VRFocus will bring you the latest updates.
