Earlier in the week the UK’s national map-charting agency, Ordnance Survey, released a brand new virtual reality (VR) experience that allows players to explore the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, with either the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) on PC or with mobile HMDs such as Google Cardboard on smartphones. The free experience is available for all to download. For those that don’t have a VR HMD, however, a brief video showcasing the experience has now been released.

The short video, seen below acts as a quick showcase for the experience, which presents the Scottish mountain at a scale of 1:4. The full PC version of the experience includes a time-based exploration mini-game while the mobile version allows players to simply tour the mountain.

VRFocus will continue to follow any and all VR experiences, reporting back with the latest updates on them.
