On today’s trip into anything and everything New to VR we’re strapping on our head mounted time machines to go, virtually, back into the past with a brand new educational experience.

Created by developer Eightfold, Meso VR takes us back to the period of 300-900 AD and the ancient civilization of the Mayan people, located in what was then Mesoamerica but which is now, essentially, Central America. Meso VR serves as an introduction to this world, famed for its developments in numeracy, writing and the Mayan calendar as well as the mystery as to why the people all but abandoned their stone cities by the end of this time period.

Available on Oculus VR Share, Meso VR supports the Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted display (HMD) and requires an SDK version above 0.6. Further technical specifications please see the Oculus VR Share page linked above.
