Its been a busy week with Gamescom 2016 in Germany showcasing lots of virtual reality (VR) content. At the event the public managed to get their hands on Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE’s) upcoming head mounted display (HMD), PlayStation VR, and with it big name title Resident Evil 7 biohazard. For those unable to attend the show the PlayStation.Blog has showcased a new trailer and screenshots.
The trailer and some of the screenshots come from a videotape in the title labelled ‘Mia’. As the blog explains: “Resident Evil 7 Biohazard takes place in Dulvey, Louisiana, where something’s amiss. Nobody’s heard from Jack or Marguerite Baker in ages, with rumours flying about what may have happened to them.
“Who is the young woman in the videotape? What does Marguerite want with her, and will she escape? We can say that while the young woman may be the focus of this particular found footage video tape segment, you won’t be playing as her in the main game. You’ll have to wait a little longer to find out more about the other characters and what happens in the game!”
The blog also notes that this videotape has been designed to mimic old video quality, the actual footage isn’t representative of the graphics found in the rest of the title.
Currently for PlayStation 4 owners with PS Plus they can get their hands on the Beginning Hour demo which features another videotape from a missing film crew. Resident Evil 7 biohazard is scheduled to launch on 24th January 2017, for PlayStation 4 with support for PlayStation VR.
