In a new collaboration, virtual reality (VR) cinematic production company Jaunt and VR Playhouse have created a music and dance experience called La Fuerza Imprevista.

Celebrating Mexican festival Cinco de Mayo, the VR experience features Latin Grammy-nominated all-female mariachi band Flor de Toloache, elegant ballet folklorico dancers from Leyenda Dance Company and beatboxer, Musical Mammal.

Filmed in Vibiana, a cathedral turned event space, La Fuerza Imprevista will immerse viewers in the individual performances which can be viewed at their leisure, all while taking in the ornate and expansive setting and its powerful acoustics.

The 360-degree video can only be viewed via the Jaunt VR app, available on iOS and Android using Google Cardboard or similar headsets, or without. The app also supports Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive head-mounted displays (HMD).

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Jaunt, reporting back with the latest content additions.
