The new year is here and that means that both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are now just months away from full, consumer-orientated launches. Despite some delays, HTC itself is starting to overhaul its marketing efforts for its upcoming head-mounted display (HMD), recently revealing a brand new logo for the SteamVR-enabled device. Now the company is launching a brand new interview series that appears to be focusing on studios working on the kit. The series is named ‘This is Real’ and its first guest is Phaser Lock Interactive, the developer of Final Approach.

In the video below HTC’s Joshua Parker chats to developers such as CCO Michael Daubert and CTO John Nagle about the upcoming project in which players manage a miniature airport using the position-tracked capabilities of the HTC Vive. Daubert discusses the core mechanics on the title and how it utilises the SteamVR systems. There’s also of course plenty of footage of Final Approach itself in action along with a closer look at Phaser Lock Studio’s own offices in which the upcoming title is being created.

Final Approach is also in developer for the Oculus Rift HMD, where it will use the Oculus Touch controllers. That kit, however, won’t be launching until the second half of 2016, while the HTC Vive will arrive in April. Expect the HMD to be the first place you can sample this new title, then.
